Privacy-First Analytics
We track anonymous usage patterns to improve your experience, but we do it without invading your privacy.
What We Track
We collect anonymous information about which pages you visit, which features you use, and where you encounter friction. This helps us understand what's working and what needs improvement.
- Page views and navigation patterns
- Feature interactions (buttons clicked, forms submitted)
- Scroll depth and time on page
- Browser viewport size and device type
- Referral source (where you came from)
What We DON'T Track
We've deliberately chosen not to track anything that could identify you personally or follow you across the web.
- No cookies: We don't set any tracking cookies on your device
- No persistent identifiers: Session IDs are generated fresh each visit and never stored
- No personal information: We never collect names, emails, IP addresses, or other PII through analytics
- No cross-site tracking: We don't follow you around the internet
- No data selling: We will never sell your data to third parties
- No fingerprinting: We don't create unique browser fingerprints to track you
How It Works
When you visit our site, we generate a random session ID that exists only for your current browsing session. This helps us understand a single user's journey (e.g., "someone went from the home page → assessment → library"), but we can't connect that session to you personally or track you when you return later.
Events are stored locally in your browser for debugging purposes (you can view them at /internal/analytics), and aggregated anonymously on our servers for analysis.
Your Data, Your Control
Because we don't use cookies or persistent tracking, you don't need to accept any consent banners. Your assessment results and other personal data are stored locally in your browser—we never see them unless you explicitly choose to contribute to the Heuman Index (coming soon).
GDPR & CCPA Compliance
Our privacy-first approach means we're compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and other privacy regulations without needing consent banners. We don't collect personal data, we don't track individuals across sessions, and we don't use cookies—so there's nothing to consent to.
Technical Details
For the technically curious:
- Session IDs are random strings generated client-side using Math.random() and Date.now()
- They're never stored in cookies, localStorage (except for debugging), or any persistent storage
- Events are batched and sent to our analytics endpoint with no personally identifiable information
- Server-side, we aggregate events by product area, event type, and time—never by individual user
- All analytics code is open source and can be reviewed in our
lib/analytics/directory

Philosophy: Small Tech, Big Respect
This approach aligns with our "Small Tech" philosophy. We believe you can build powerful, insightful products without invasive tracking. Respecting user privacy isn't a regulatory burden—it's a design choice that makes products better for everyone.
